The staff here seem like they prefer to be working at Event Cinemas sweeping up pop corn than working here. They are very disinterested in their customers. They are NOT helpful and give one word answers most of the time. As you can see from the photos, the store was empty. Maybe the gentleman had games to finish himself? I will still come back and try the VR and update this review.

Took my boys and two friends yesterday for the Arizona Sunrise game and they were blown away. I couldn't stop videoing their actions and just delighting in their thorough enjoying of the experience. They are very keen to return, next time with me joinining in! Thanks Freak VR, keep up the great work!!

My husband, kids and I all had a blast at our first time trying VR at FREAK Macquarie! We tried the free play arcade and there were a great selection of games for both kids and adults that were fun and straight forward to play. Our 6 and 7 year old could use the headset and controllers unassisted and had so much fun! Our host David was really helpful and enthusiastic and great at explaining how it all worked! We loved it so much, we're booking our daughter's birthday there next month!

We recently had a great first time at Freaks VR experience and would recommend it to anyone. Despite some minor tech glitches, the host, Isaac, made the night incredibly enjoyable. His attention to detail, kindness, and generous support was outstanding, and he was absolutely hilarious! He went above and beyond to ensure everyone had fun. Honestly, he deserves a raise for making the experience truly memorable.

Besides the actual VR escape room we played, everything else was an exceptionally poor experience. Because there are so many problems, I’m going to list them all in dot points to make it easier to read for anyone who has the displeasure of going here for any reason. - The VR headsets and controllers are not cleaned after use. I watched how the staff handled the equipment after I left, and when the next customers came in, they had not cleaned the equipment beforehand. - Following from the previous point, the lenses of the VR headsets were dirty and made everything blurry. - Lack of soundproofing and a confined space means that if they have children playing their games (which they did when we came), their screaming makes it impossible to enjoy whatever you’re doing. - The VR headsets we used constantly had hardware issues, ranging from visuals going black to the controllers no longer being detected. This happened countless times during our one hour session, which was made even worse because: - The staff are incredibly inattentive when assistance is required. We had to have our hands raised high into the air for 10 minutes straight to get anyone’s attention at one point. Even then, nobody came to help until I YELLED to get a staff member’s attention (children were screaming at the time), who was just at the front desk on the computer. However: - When we finished our session, staff immediately came to remove our headsets and tell us our time was up. Tell me why it took 10 minutes to get help for your faulty hardware, but 10 seconds for you to kick us out? The only thing that was good about this place was that the actual VR escape room we played (Alice in Wonderland) would have been fun if it weren’t for the constant technical and hardware issues. Not that it matters, because other VR places do similar escape room experiences anyway, and are much, much more professional than this place. Go to a different VR escape room.
